Thank you for contacting Canon technical support.We value you as a Canon customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you.We regret that you are experiencing difficulty setting up your imageCLASS MF3240 for Windows 8.
We will gladly provide assistance. Canon has not yet posted Windows 8 drivers to the internet for this model. Windows 8 is basically Windows 7 with the Start menu removed. Windows 7 drivers are working on Windows 8 computers in our office. You most likely have the 64 bit version of Windows 8 Pro.
Note: To find your version of Windows 8, on your keyboard, hold the Windowskey and press the Pause/Break key (upper, right). The System Properties window appears and shows the version of Windows, and whether it is 32 bit or 64 bit.
If you opt to install the Windows 7 drivers, use this link:
1. Select the Windows operating system from the (Select Operating System) using the left Drop-Down Arrow.
2. Select the Windows 7 x64 (for 64 bit) version from the (Select OS Version) using the right Drop-Down Arrow.
3. Click on Drivers.
4. Click on the File Description link for imageCLASS MF3200 Series Printer Driver Ver.3.00 for Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 x64 Edition.
Instructions for completing the download and installation will appear on the new page so you will want to read through these. I have also included the instructions below.
You will also see a Disclaimer at the bottom. Review the disclaimer and click I Agree - Begin Download.
NOTE: Clicking I Decline - Go Back will take you back to the available downloads list.
Download the driver file to the desktop and double-click on it to extract the files.
64 bit Download/USB Installation Procedure:
1. Connect the USB cable and verify that the unit is powered on.
2. Click on Start, right mouse click on Computer and then left click on Properties.
3. Left click on Device Manager on the left hand side.
4. Under Unknown or Other Devices you will see the Canon listed.
5. Double-click the first one, then click on the Driver tab and then Update Driver.

6. Click on Browse your computer and then Browse again.
7. Select the Desktop from the list and then the Canon folder.
Note: Desktop is the default download location. If you saved the driver file to a different location, then browse to that folder.
8. Click Next and then OK and this will install the driver.
9. Close the Properties box.
10. Perform the same steps for the remaining Canon entries listed in Device Manager.
