I too have a HANNS-G monitor, I use a 28' monitor and you are correct the HANNS-G and Hannspree companies do not seem to be in buisness anymore. All I could find was a company called Hannstar. Anyways none of these websites offer drivers for software updates that are compatible with our brand of monitors. Im sure that yours is described in device manager as a generic non-pnp monitor.

To get down to buisness just for **** and giggles try updating the driver and see if that fixes the problem. It probably wont but theres no harm in trying. Rick click on the window icon in the bottom left hand side of your taskbar. Click on device manager. Click on 'monitors' You should see your monitor as probably generic non pnp monitor. Right click it and click update drivers. Click search automatically for drivers. It will either install a new driver or will tell you that you already have the latest installed. If it does tell you that you have the latest installed I would suggest try turning off the setting which puts your monitor to sleep after a prolonged period of non-use. It sounds like when your having the issue is when you go and 'wake up' the computer. I understand this isnt really a fix but maybe by having the computer stop going into hibernation mode and powering down the monitor you wont have to replug it in. Maybe doing this for awhile will give Microsoft time to fix all the problems most of us are having with unsupported monitors. To stop the computer from going into these power saving modes do this
1. Left click the windows icon
2. Click the settings 'gear icon'
3. Click on 'system'
4. Click on 'power and sleep'
5. Change both settings for screen and sleep to 'never'
I would also recommend making sure you have a screen saver on as you do not want the same image on your screen during non use, not sure if newer monitors are impervious to 'burn in' but I wouldnt want to chance it. 'Burn in' is when a static image is displayed for hours and day at a time and the pixels get screwed up and the image that was projected messes up your display. Anyways to set a screen saver go to

1. Find the 'ask me anything' AKA Cortana icon. The white circle thing. If you dont know where it is just google it.
2. Click it and type 'screen saver'
3. Click change screen saver settings

4. Pick a screen saver and make sure its enabled ... Choose something other than 'blank' ... like bubbles or ribbons or whatever..
